Authors I’d Love to Meet!

Even though I read a lot, I haven’t been to very many book signings, mainly because I’m always in the wrong place for book signings. There are so many authors I’d love to meet, and it was so hard to narrow it down to five.

5. V.E. Schwab: I just love her books and her writing styles. I’d love to meet her and tell her how much her books have impacted me.

Screen Shot 2017-04-30 at 4.26.42 PM4. Jojo Moyes: Y’all know how much I love Me Before You and if I ever had the chance to meet Jojo Moyes, I’d never pass on that. Me Before You was just so incredible and I’d love to see her and have her sign my copy and for me to be able to tell her how much her book resonated with me.

cassandra-clare3. Cassandra Clare: I’ve read so many of her books and loved all of them. My favorites are, of course, The Infernal Devices. I’d just love to meet her and fangirl about Will and Tessa.

JK Rowling2. J.K. Rowling: This one doesn’t really need any explaining. She’s some sort of childhood hero in my mind and meeting her would be a dream come true. Her books formed the basis of my love for reading and I’d just love to talk to her.

114661.Markus Zusak: Again, not surprising. His books have completely changed my life. I can’t even put to words how much I loved The Book Thief and I am the Messenger. I’d just love the chance to meet him and tell him how amazing I thought his books were and how much I love his writing style.

That was it for today’s post, just a few of the authors I’d love to meet.

Most Anticipated Releases of 2017

2017 is an amazing year for book releases and I’m super excited for the books coming out this year. Here are the top 10 books I’m looking forward to in 2017 in the order they are released in:

25613472A List of Cages by Robin Roe: I’m super excited for this book and it comes out very soon: January 10. I don’t want to go into a full synopsis but it’s about this boy called Adam who helps the school psychologist. One day she asks Adam to track down a troubled freshman. Adam finds out that the boy is Julian, the foster brother he hasn’t seen in five years.

This sounds super interesting and family based, which I’m really looking forward to. Click here for the link on Goodreads.

29995905City of Saints and Thieves by Natalie C. Anderson. Comes out January 24. I mentioned this book in a previous post, but I’m really excited for this release especially since it’s set in Kenya. Click here for the link on Goodreads.

19186075-_sy540_A Conjuring of Light by V.E. Schwab. Comes out February 21. This is the third and final book of the Shades of Magic trilogy. 30312860Always and Forever, Lara Jean by Jenny Han: Comes out May 2. This is the third book in the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before series and I’m so excited about this one. I honestly was not expecting there to be a third book, but here it is. Here is the Goodreads link.

31145148The Love Interest by Cale Dietrich: Comes out May 16. I am so unbelievably excited for this book. Essentially, it’s about a love triangle where the two boys fall in love with each other instead of the girl. That in itself is something I’ve been looking for for a while and I’m so happy there’s finally a book about this. May can’t come fast enough. Here is the Goodreads link.

28458598When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon: Comes out May 30. This book is about a modern arranged marriage, and Indian main characters. I’m looking forward to how this story plays out. Here is the link.

5 Favorite Kickass Female Characters

I’ve been a bit AWOL lately, but I’m back, at least for now anyways. So, here’s my favorite kickass female characters:

Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games: Let’s be real here. She’s as tough as it gets. I love Katniss’ strength and resilience throughout the trilogy, and how she kept persevering even in the hardest of times.

cityofbonesrepackaged-259x400Isabelle Lightwood from the Mortal Instruments series: Isabelle is really an inspiration to me. I love her style and strength, and her mad fighting skills. She’s one my favorite girls in the series and I think she gets underestimated way too often.

cover_ravenboys_300Blue Sargent from the Raven Cycle: I haven’t finished the series yet (I still need to read the last book), but so far I am loving her character. She isn’t an assassin or anything like that, but she has an amazing strength of her own. I love how she always defends herself and women’s rights. She doesn’t let anyone manipulate her just because she’s a girl. She also carries around a pink switchblade which she used to injure an attacker in a cave in the third book, which is pretty epic if you ask me.

51ryevqlj9lLilah from the Shades of Magic series: Lilah is one of my favorite characters from this series; I find her so strong and resilient and powerful. She never lets anyone get away with mistreating and is, in short, just a total amazing badass.

cinderCinder from the Lunar Chronicles series: Cinder is just such an amazing character, I just love her so much, she is my queen. Again, she has some much inner strength and resilience that I really admire, and I love the way she kicks ass in every single one of the books. In the first one, she just blew me away with her strength. She knew what she wanted and fought for it.

Fall Releases I’m Looking Forward To

Fall this year is going to be a very exciting season for book releases, so here’s the five books I’m most looking forward to this fall:

26864835Blood for Blood by Ryan Graudin: I’m so absolutely excited for this book, you don’t even know. It comes out November 21, 2016.

latest (1272×1920)

Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy Bind-up by Cassandra Clare, Sarah Rees Brennan, Maureen Johnson, Robin Wasserman: I’ve only read the first novella from this collection, but I can’t wait to read the rest. Comes out November 15, 2016.

chamber-of-secrets-illustrated-editionHarry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Illustrated edition by J.K. Rowling, Illustrated by Jim Kay: Eek! No more word necessary, to be honest. Comes out October 14, 2016.

unitedfinalUnited by Melissa Landers: This is the third book in a trilogy (I think) and I’m so excited to read it. I haven’t read the second book yet, but now I’ll probably read it as soon as possible now, as it just came out two days ago, on August 2. I know that it’s not technically fall, but whatever…

22299763Crooked Kingdoms by Leigh Bardugo: So, I haven’t read the first book Six of Crows, but I do have it in my possession and the synopsis sounds amazing and I can’t wait to get to it. This book comes out September 27, 2016.

28691932The Forgetting by Sharon Cameron: I haven’t really heard much about this but I was looking around for new releases and the premise of this book sounds amazing. This book comes out September 13, 2016.

Hope you enjoyed that little list of fall releases! What are some of your most anticipated releases of this coming fall?

Series I’m Dying To Finish

Hello everyone! Today I’ll be talking about the book series I need to finish but somehow haven’t gotten around to it. These are all the fabulous series I’ve started but haven’t read more of, even though they’re amazing. And if this post doesn’t show it, I’ll just going to say that: I’m bad at binge reading a series. It takes me a really long time to finish a series even if its absolutely fantastic.

  1. The Redumqxjlfoedq7lj67v7w0 Rising Trilogy by Pierce Brown: I remember reading this a while back and really loving the first book, and I don’t know why I haven’t picked up Golden Sun. My excuse has been that it isn’t out in paperback…except that it is so that excuse is not even valid. I’ll get on it soon, I promise.
  2. The Lunar Chronicles by Marrissa Meyer: I read Cinder last year and absolutely loved it, and thefavelunarn I read Scarlet and didn’t really like it. So, I put off reading Cress for the longest time but I am finally getting on to it. I’m currently listening to the Cress audiobook and while it isn’t as good as Cinder, I’m still enjoying it immensely and can’t wait to read Winter.

Now if you’ve been living under a rock, Hamilton is a Broadway musical about one of America’s founding fathers, treasury secretary Alexander Hamilton and it is told through hip-hop songs. And I, like the rest of the world, am obsessed. It’s the best thing in the world and I can’t believe I didn’t start listening to it sooner. The tag was originally created by MaureenKeavy on Youtube. I thought it’d be a really fun thing to do.

So, here is the Hamilton Book Tag:

1.The Room Where it Happens: A Book World You Would Insert Yourself In

Sorry to be so predictable, but I have to say Harry Potter. If I had the one option to go into any fictional world, it would always be Harry Potter’s world. Always.

2.The Schuyler Sisters: An Underrated Female Character

So I wanted to say Ginny Weasley, but I need to stop limiting myself to Harry Potter. So instead, I’m going to say Lesley, from the Ruby Red Trilogy. Lesley is the definition of a best friend. She’s always there for Gwyn whenever she needs her and she’s just the best.

3.  My Shot: A character that goes after what they want and doesn’t let anything stop them

Yael from Wolf by Wolf by Ryan Graudin. She literally goes after what she wants. She sets out and competes in a motorcycle race to kill Hitler. It’s known to be dangerous and she has to impersonate someone else in order to do it, but she is determined to kill Hitler and does whatever necessary to do so.
